Actual last
The ending of Night seems like it came rather abruptly, the battle only lasted 6 hours and then they were free. You realize how much Elie had cared about his father when he states how nothing could touch hI'm after his father died
Last
It's amazing how much Elie did for his father and really sad how he had made it through all of the abuse at the camps only to die of disease months before freedom, although Elie had conflicting emotions aND ambivalence regarding his father it's amazing how much he did for him until the ver end.
7th
its really sad to see how the Germans would throw bread into the trains to watch the Jews destroy each other.
6th
in this section Eli and his father are forced to flee the camp well the Russians are liberating the camp; they are marching and running while Elie is still suffering from his wound on his foot. The love he had for his father was so strong that it forced him to continue running instead of falling behind and getting shot. Although it's understandable it's also really sad that Rabbi Eliahous son had abandoned his father purposely.
5th
this section is where you first start to see the greatest loss of Elis faith in God, during Rosh Hashanna Elie doesn't participate in the traditional New Year activities. He also doesn't fast for the Day of Atonement in fear of starvation and dying but also in defiance.for the 'New Year's gift' by the SS the Jews had to participate in selection. It was hard enough to read how Eli's father first thought that he had passed selection, realized that he hadn't but then pass the final selection. I imagine that Elie was pleased but probably felt emotionally drained.
4th.
I think that Elie should have traded his shoes for a good unit and being with his father. Eli was really smart to not go to the dentist and to tell the dentist that he had a fever when they wanted to take his tooth until the doctor was no longer at the camp, but ironic that later on the foreman realized he had his tooth still and made a doctor take it out with a rusty spoon, its sad that he took out his frustration with Elie on Eli's father.
3rd
I think it's odd that SS men told Eli that he should be 18 not 15 when they arrived at Auschwitz off of the train it almost seems as if he was trying to protect him but yet they're still very violent and demeaning. in this section he talks about how the first night in Auschwitz turned the rest of his life into one long night, which is also the title of the book. 3 weeks after their arrival at Auschwitz Eli and his father are forced to move camps and go to buna after a four hour walk.
